Parcours Recherche en Mathématiques

Overview

The Master parcours Recherche en Mathématiques aims to provide an introduction to a range of topics in pure and applied mathematics. It provides a solid foundation for a doctorate degree in Mathematics.

The first year (Master 1) is entirely in common with the Master parcours Préparation à l'Agrégation Externe, and aims to build a solid foundation in different areas of mathematics.

In the second year (Master 2), several advanced courses on research topics are proposed in the first semester, which paves way to a lab internship and research project during the second semester.

The lectures at Master 1 level will take place in French. The lectures of Master 2 are in English.

In both cases, applications are done via the university portal that contains updated informations and will redirect you towards the national portal Mon Master (typical calendar: application in february-march of year N, evaluation in april-mai, for classes starting in september of year N if your application is accepted; a complimentary phase is possible at the end of June). A second complimentary phase, specific to URCA is possible in jully-august of year N via the local website eCandidat.

For foreign candidates of non-EU partner countries whose entry in France (visa) is conditionnal to your application beeing accepted in a master program, please use the portal Étude en France. The procedure is lenghty: typically, application occurs in october-decembre of year N, your file will be considered in april-mai N+1 for classes starting in septembre N+1 if your application was accepted. There is no complimentary phase and you are not elligible to apply through another plateform.

Pay attention to the fact that your application to one "parcours" within our Master is completely independent of your application to the other ones. Therefore, if you are interested in two of them, you need to apply to both. Transfers are not automatic. This webpage provides an overview of our Master.
